Hertfordshire County Girls 7's

Introduction

• To be held at TABARD RFC, Radlett, Hertfordshire on Sunday 18th May 2008.
• Entry is for U15 and U18 Girls teams. There will be up to 16 teams in each age group.
• This is an open tournament and is potentially the biggest Girls Seven's festival in the East and East Midland regions this season.
• The aim is to provide a festival where as many girls, from Hertfordshire and neighbouring counties, can take part as possible. Entries from combined teams, from more than one club are possible, as is a "Barbarian" side at each age group.

Key Points

• Date: 18th May 2008.
• Proposed timings:
      Registration 10:00am
      First Match 11:00am
      Finish 4:00pm
• Format: The planned format will be 4 pools, teams to then progress to a Cup, Plate, shield or Bowl semi-finals, finals, and play-offs. The intention is that there will be at least four games per team.
• Entry Fee: £50 per Team. Non-refundable. £15 returned if you bring a referee.
• Combined entries and Barbarians: If you do not have sufficient players in an age group to form a team on your own , or have too many for one team but not a second, you may either combine with a another club or we will (if entries permit) assist in the formation of a "Barbarian" team. If you are interested in the latter, please let us know - on the attached entry form - how many “extra” players you might be bringing. If a Barbarian team is formed the charge per individual player would be £5 payable on the day.
• Numbers: Planning is based on a total entry of 16 teams per age group. We suggest a squad size of 10 players.
• Age Groups: Under 15 girls should be 14 or under on 1st September 2007. Under 18 girls should be between 15 and 17 on 1st Sepember 2007.
• Playing Rules: Playing rules will be broadly those used for the National Sevens – i.e. the standard IRB Sevens rules, with appropriate modifications for age.
• Referees: If you are able to supply an experienced Referee please mark their name and contact details on the bottom of the Entry Form. However, this should not be the Team Coach as they may be required to Referee another game at the same time as their Team is playing. If you can provide a referee a £15 reduction will be given on the entry fee. Refunds will be given on the day.

• If your club has not already collected this consent a copy of this form can be downloaded from the [RFU Website].
