About Us |
Welcome to Tabard Women. This season we will be competing in National Challenge League South East North 2 after winning promotion as Champions last season. Women’s rugby is one of the fastest growing sports in the UK. With England Women current European champions and the 2010 Women’s Rugby World Cup being held in the UK, this trend is set to continue and we are keen to encourage new or bring back experienced players to the game
Tabard Women began playing friendly games with local sides five years ago. In 2007 we entered a friendly league and won with an unbeaten record. Following this in 2008 we entered the national leagues and in our second season at this level we won the league as champions and were promoted, we will continue to build upon this success in 2010-2011.
We always welcome new players, whether they are experienced or have never picked up a rugby ball before and are keen to hear from anyone who wants a taster training session to see if rugby could be for them. We are a friendly side who socialise regularly and are involved in all areas of the club, so as well as the playing side there is a lot more for new players to become involved in. Tabard is a friendly family orientated club where all players and non-playing members support and encourage all teams from minis to junior and senior men and women.
We are currently establishing a girl’s side and are keen to hear from any girls under the age of 18 who want to get involved with a developing local team.

Training and Coaching |
Training is on Wednesday nights from 7.15 to 9pm and players of all abilities are welcome. We have specialist forwards and backs coaches and visits from guest coaches throughout the season, previous guest coaches included a visit from England international Margaret Alphonsi who’s training session was an exciting and educational experience for all involved.
We have a team physiotherapist available for training and matches, which take place on a Sunday afternoon.
The team has progressed tremendously throughout the past five seasons and last year we again provided six players for the Herts County Women’s squad, which was a fantastic achievement as some of the girls had only been playing rugby for a few years.
So why not come along on a Wednesday and unlock your potential.
